Community Action Dacorum works with Schools in Dacorum to support them with delivering careers education. The team works closely with the secondary school career leads to give local students a full and enriching experience. 

Our consultants reuglary support candidates through the recruitment process, starting with formatting and presenting their CVs to show the best reflection of their skills and experience and discussing interview techniques and support. So it seemed like an obvious choice for us to volunteer some of consultants to support our young people at this vital stage of thinking about their futures.

The half day consisted of each of our consultants running a workshop for groups of 4-8 year 10 students and guiding them through what the main principles are for a good CV, explaining what happens in an interview and running through various tasks to help them work through how they would go about embarking on the process of job hunting.

Our team of Bobby, Beth, Clare and Sophie really enjoyed the day, had great interaction with the students and felt like the positive and practical advice would give the students confidence in the future. 

Well done guys for making a postive effort to support our local community - we might be meeting these students in the not too distant future to help them with their job hunting.
