Supporting our temporary workforce

When the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) was launched at the end of March we were pleased that it meant we could support our temporary workforce and extend the option of furlough to our Temps, with every one of those eligible being paid every week. 

We proactively contacted every candidate that was eligible to be furloughed under the CJRS and confirmed how much their weekly pay would be. We were also in the fortunate position where we could continue paying our temps weekly before claiming the money back from HMRC, ensuring our temps could rely on their pay and would not be financially impacted by holding their weekly salary back.

Sadly, we have heard from a lot of candidates that the agencies they were temping through have not supported them through the last few months and that is sad to hear.  Our temps are part of our workforce and we will always do our best by them, so I am pleased and proud we have supported so many candidates over the last few months.

With the changes to the CJRS coming into play from August, we are only in a position to keep our Temps on furlough until the end of July but they are all ready to start and itching to get back into work!  I’m pleased that some have returned to their assignments but others are now IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE to commence new assignments for clients in the local area.  They are tried and tested temps with strong references, with a broad range of experience that businesses can utilise.

Our temps are highly valued!  Our temporary division has grown significantly since it launched in 2016 and we are pleased to have a significant number of temps working at our clients across the local area. One of the elements of our service that we pride ourselves on is our “aftercare” where we speak frequently to our working Temps to make sure everything is going well in their assignments, whilst also maintaining regular contact with their hiring manager(s).
