We are celebrating 10 years of Think Specialist Recruitment!

Launched on 4th January 2011, we have reached our 10th birthday this week! 

 Our story

Having spent 6 years working for one of the World's biggest recruitment companies, our Managing Director Chris Jones made the decision to go it alone and had the vision of founding a recruitment business that could offer a truly dedicated, open, honest and service-focused agency that could support local businesses find high calibre staff.  He decided to concentrate on recruiting permanent head office staff  across the Herts, Beds and Bucks area where he had gained a wealth of experience and knowledge of the local market. 

On 4th January 2011, Chris launched Think Specialist Recruitment! Working by himself and armed with a phone and laptop, he set about getting the business up and running.

Chris worked from his office at home to build the foundations of the business for the first 18 months before the birth of his first son compelled him to find an office for the business to grow from. 

In July 2012 Think found its initial premises at the Maylands Business Centre in Hemel Hempstead where we eventually took on our first staff, moving offices twice with the business centre to allow for additional desk space and growth.

2016 saw the launch of our temporary services and the business continued to grow year on year as we added to our team of Consultants and more clients utilised us for their recruitment. We invested heavily in our technology from 2017 with the implementation of our Applicant Tracking System, our online timesheet portal for our temporary workers and an upgrade on our cloud-based IT systems. 

2018 saw Think bring on board an experienced Marketing Manager which led to a "brand refresh" - a new logo, new website, new marketing literature and a new-look business that better reflected the evolution of the company. We continued to invest in increasing our headcount, improving our processes and service levels to ensure that we could continue to establish ourselves as a true market leader in the local area.

In 2019 we moved into a brand new office on Maylands Avenue at the newly built Kylna Business Centre. Our new office allowed more space to grow and a new home for the team to work from.  Based in the heart of the Maylands Estate in Hemel Hempstead, the team continues to support local businesses by finding them high calibre, local candidates.

From our beginnings in 2011 up to and including 2019, Think successfully grew its fee base year on year (sadly 2020 put a stop on that achievement!) and have built a team of experienced and capable Consultants who focus on recruiting for permanent and temporary vacancies across the local area.  

2020 saw the launch of a dedicated Accountancy & Finance and Human Resources division, whilst the existing team continue to recruit for head office vacancies across head office support functions. Along with many other companies,  we experienced a rather torrid year but have weathered the storm and look forward to continuing our growth plans in 2021. 

2021 sees us commemorate Think Specialist Recruitment's 10th birthday and we are looking forward to celebrating across the course of this year whilst the UK gets back on track and we hopefully come out of the pandemic in a strong position.

Think Specialist Recruitment is an independent support staff recruitment agency based in Hemel Hempstead and working across the Herts, Beds and Bucks area. We specialise in permanent and temporary recruitment with areas of expertise including; administration, customer service/call centre, PA/secretarial, human resources, accountancy and finance, sales admin/sales support, marketing and IT Helpdesk/IT support.
