A review of 2016

As we approach the end of 2016 and with the festive period in full swing, I have been reflecting on what has been an excellent 12 months for Think Specialist Recruitment.  Now nearing the end of our 6th financial year (where has that time gone?) I am pleased to confirm that we have seen fantastic growth in 2016 and have continued our history of increasing revenue, year on year (every year), since we launched. 

 

Temp Business
Due to demand from existing clients, January 2016 saw the launch of Think Specialist Recruitment’s temporary recruitment services.  Much of the background work was completed late in 2015 but we were pleased to start 2016 with the processes, compliance and insurance ready to kick start our temporary business.  We placed our first temps in January and the hire of our Temps Consultant Alex Ellis has seen a fantastic increase in the number of temporary staff we have representing us within our client base on a weekly basis.  We’re looking forward to seeing just how much our Temporary business can grow in 2017 and I would like to thank those clients who have given us a shot at showing what we can do, along with Alex for all of her hard work and perseverance!  If you would like to discuss your business’s temp recruitment please do contact Alex and she will be delighted to assist – [email protected] / 01442 450585

 

Permanent market
The permanent market has been buoyant this year and, with that, has brought its own challenges. High calibre applicants are in high demand and we are at a stage where good candidates are being snapped up quickly.  Hiring companies that take too long to hire are missing out, counter-offers are happening far more frequently and there are many more options for candidates looking to further their careers.  How long this market will stay this way remains to be seen but it is definitely a good time to look for a new job!  Through investment in our candidate attraction, development of our database, marketing and building awareness of our services in the local market (see below!), we are always confident in sourcing the ideal candidate for our client vacancies.  If you would like to hear more about our permanent services or discuss your job search, please contact [email protected] or [email protected] or call 01442 450585 to talk further.

 

Team expansion
Along with the hiring of our Temporary Consultant, we are pleased to confirm that we have a new Permanent Consultant starting with us in January to concentrate on the Hemel Hempstead and surrounding markets – full details to follow. 

To reward our staff, our ‘profit share’ scheme was also launched this year and I look forward to paying the team their annual bonus in January!

 What does 2017 hold in store?

We are very excited about 2017 and continuing our expansion plans.  With many unknown factors influencing the UK economy, I am mindful of the potential for a reduction in hiring and we have to be cautious in our approach.   However, we do work with a diverse selection of clients and, as yet, have not heard of many businesses looking to stop or pause their own expansion plans. Fingers crossed the market remains buoyant!

Along with the hiring of our new Permanent Consultant and the predicted increase to our permanent revenue, we are going to continue our investment into our Temporary division and build upon the success of our Temps business in 2017.  We will look to increase our headcount later in the year and, as mentioned above, I am really keen to continue our search for talent to add to the Think team.

Also on our agenda is an investment in our marketing, a focus on developing new clients whilst ensuring that our existing customers receive the first-class service they have become accustomed to.  Candidate attraction and candidate experience also remain firmly at the forefront of our minds and will be a major focus for the team entering into next year.

I would like to say a massive ‘Thank you’ to all of the clients and candidates that we have worked with in 2016, along with a huge thanks to our hardworking and committed team here at Think Specialist Recruitment.
