Think Specialist Recruitment picked the Pepper Foundation as our corporate charity for 2013/2014 and we are pleased to confirm our first donation of £1250 for our 2013 financial year!

Chris Jones met with lead fundraiser Diane Butler and the team at Pepper Foundation last week to present our cheque. He said,

“When I launched Think Specialist Recruitment in 2011 I was keen, once our business became established, to partner with a local charity and support their fundraising efforts. Based in Hemel Hempstead, we provide recruitment services to companies across the region and, as an independent business, we wanted to support a charity embedded in the local area.  The Pepper Foundation provides such a fantastic service to children across our local community that, as a new father myself, it seemed to be a perfect match for our business and a worthy beneficiary of our donation for 2013. We look forward to providing continued support to the Pepper Foundation as our corporate charity for 2014 and would encourage other local businesses to help raise funds for such an amazing cause.”

The Pepper Foundation is a local registered charity which funds specialist palliative nursing care in the Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire areas for children and young people up to 19 years of age with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness. Pepper supports six full-time specialist paediatric nurses and a family support team.  They work with between 30 and 50 life-limited children and their families at any one time in the patients’ own home.  The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and this means that the families feel supported and in control; they know a nurse is never more than a phone call away.  In 2013/14 Pepper is hoping to recruit a clinical nurse specialist with expertise in palliative care to enable us to reach more children in West Hertfordshire.  The Pepper nursing service is provided at absolutely no cost to patients or their families.
