Are you an experienced Learning and Development specialist who would like to work as part of a fantastic team? Would you like to take on a varied, fast-paced and exciting role where you can play a creative role in composing and delivering the training strategy? We are recruiting a Learning & Development Partner for a well-known, international company with a great culture and where talent development plays a crucial role in their success.
We are looking for candidates who are equally comfortable with both creating and delivering soft skills training, to focus on the needs of the business and ensure their staff are equipped to perform to the highest standard. A lot of training will be delivered online but there is a shift to more face to face sessions, so candidates must be able to commute to their Hemel Hempstead head office weekly. Pre-planned international travel (no more than once a quarter) will also be required.
Role overview:
- Responsible for increasing employee capability and performance through establishing development needs, the design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development interventions, including the consistent implementation and ongoing development of key programmes.
- Work in direct partnership with HR and Business stakeholders to identify individual and group learning needs, performing L&D consulting expertise to define and deliver the functional annual learning plans to support the successful delivery of business results
- Manage the life cycle of learning solutions to ensure effective design, delivery, and implementation so that there is alignment to original scoped request/solutions.
- Support the talent review and succession planning process; by providing advice on appropriate development solutions to accelerate growth and impact, creating PDP’s and coaching others in the creation of effective PDP’s
- Coordination of training requirements & budget for the business function supported– ensuring budget is effectively used to develop employees, liaising with Operational HR to ensure development activities implemented
- Coach and deliver workshops on various psychometric tools, including Insights and EQi2
- Provide coaching to identified individuals to support career and skills development
- Design and facilitate team effectiveness interventions including offsites for the business areas supported
- Creating the development paths to support career paths for the functional area, including role induction
- Work with external suppliers where necessary to create and deliver development solutions
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis to identify development needs, aims and target audience to determine appropriate interventions and solutions to support the successful delivery of business results
- Research, prepare, create and deliver learning solutions, including detailed session plans, eLearning, user and quick reference guides, support and assessment materials appropriate to the learning objectives of each training activity
- Recommend and deploy a wide variety of agile and innovative ways of learning that maximise performance and ensure the business demonstrates a continuous learning culture across multiple territories
- Maintain effective communication and relationships throughout the learning journey, ensuring that any emerging development needs which come to light during the project are recognised and acted upon
- Ensure that employee’s attending training obtain the required skills to successfully and effectively perform their roles through effective assessment of participants during the learning process
- Measure and report to the business function the effectiveness of learning and development solutions and achievement of agreed ROI/ROE to identify value add and monitor training effectiveness and embedding of knowledge
- Champion ‘continuous professional development’ by keeping up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, social media and attending relevant development courses.
Candidate requirements:
- Extensive experience in a fast paced Learning & Development corporate environment with a proven track record of delivering training that makes a difference.
- Proven experience of delivering soft skills training such as: sales excellence and management excellence up to head of level, graduate development programs, succession planning and role specific inductions amongst many others
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and training delivery skills, comfortable working in different locations
- Evidence of developing strong and effective working relationships with senior management, peers, colleagues, and external providers
- A strong understanding of the training design cycle with evidence of a highly structured and consistent approach to end to end training delivery from concept to delivery and evaluation
- An effective coach with the ability to give feedback on performance
- Extensive and up to date knowledge of current L&D theory and the application of different methods, including blended learning
- Strong project management skills, self-directed project work, organisation and planning skills
- Excellent communicator - clear, concise, avoids jargon
- Taking personal responsibility for actions and deliverables
