We are recruiting for a stand-alone HR Manager opportunity working for a unique and creative business! Supporting circa 160 employees across 3 UK sites, this will be the company’s first dedicated internal HR resource and will play an important role in their growth and evolution. Their culture is collaborative, fast paced and energetic so we need somebody who will get involved and embody their environment.
We are seeking candidates that are both hands on and able to deal with strategic HR, whereby you will be responsible for day to day HR whilst also helping shape their People strategy. Candidates will need to have some previous HR experience in an SME environment, access to a car in order to spend time at other sites and be happy to travel locally on a weekly basis.
Role overview:
- Provide Transactional HR support to circa 160 employees whilst developing the People strategy
- Work with board members, senior management and payroll team to understand the current HR process and requirements from the role
- Assess current HRIS and recommend best route forward to support business growth
- Create a robust recruitment process to include the best channels for finding talent, creating job adverts, selection strategies, interview questions
- Build an onboarding and induction process - document and share with appropriate team members
- Take ownership of leavers process, document as relevant and roll out to the business
- Review and recommend training and development opportunities for staff
- Roll out an effective employee appraisal and Personal Development Plan across the business
- Support and coach line managers on all HR matters relating to their teams
- Explore ways of measuring and improving employee engagement
- Support the implementation of specific People projects
- Review well-being initiatives
- Support change management processes ie. restructures, site moves etc.
- Support the management of talent and succession planning
- Monitoring and reviewing the Employee Handbook, developing HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary to ensure legal compliance and adherence to best practice
Candidate requirements:
- Stand alone HR experience would be desirable
- Hands on and happy to undertake all day to day HR and HR administration
- Strong generalist HR experience
- Competent to develop and implement strategies.
- Able and willing to travel mainly between their Berkhamsted and Uxbridge sites
